I have another one I would like to know the value of please.
This one is a Colt mkIv 70 series Government model 45 automatic caliber nickle finish ser #ends in B70. I looked at colts site and think this was made around 1979-1981. It is not in perfect condition and does have some minor wear on it. I have the original box and some paper work. Thank you for any help with this one.

I can't really tell the condition from the photos but I will give you this information out of the 29th Edition of the Blue Book of Gun Values:
100% - $1250 98% - $1000 95% - $800 90% - $675 80% - $450 70% - $400 60% - $375 It is kind of hard to go exactly by this because it seem that prices for Colt's have gone crazy in the past few months.

Thank you gdmoody!
I made a offer of $300 for it and he sold it to me for that price. I think I got a good deal on this one. I do not fully understand the % scale for determining the value of a gun yet. I will need to look into that more. Never the less the forums has been excellent for me to find out info and answers and I thank all who take part in it. Thank you |

The finish looks like Coltguard instead of Nickel. Maybe just the pics.

I was told this is a brushed nickel Finnish. I do not know for a fact. How would I find out if it is? What is coltguard?
Thanks
