Default Ruger MKIII 22/45 mag extended base pad

Just installed my new MKIII 22/45 mag extended base pad. Had a hard time getting the mag seated. The extended base pad makes it easy.

I have a silly question. Why extend the base pad?

If you can create a problem, you can sell the fix.......
Magazines are meant to be slammed home, not inserted.
The Ruger 22/45 magazine is 1/8" longer than the frame, used right it has more than enough seating surface to engage.

I guess post number two will deal with how the grips need to be improved????

Selling is sometimes spam, though not cooked.

I agree with you the mags are meant to be slammed not inserted even though they are about an 1/8" longer doesn't mean they will be seated every time. Thats why I extended the base pad for a solid slam.

Very nice, did u buy those? If so were did you get them if you don't mind me asking? I've put many rounds through my 22/45 and you have to make sure that the mag is engaged everytime and sometimes thats a pain. I have three mags and the extended bases would be great.

Hi, Where did you get the extended base pads for the 22/45?

I realize this is an old post but the OP never responded where he got these extended mag base pads. Anyone else know?

Thanks much!

Edit: Taking a guess: Dominic Notaro? And, if so, anyone else out there making these as well?

I'm guessing Dominic as well. I have many of these, but I've never had the urge to 'slam' my mags home. They just make it a tad easier to seat them. Then again, I've spent hours cleaning them up to get them slicker than snot.
