Default Dillon SDB primer feeding

I have a Dillon SDB that I'm using to load .45 ACP's. I seem to be getting too many primers that feed the wrong way and end up going in upside down. I can pull the cartridge case every time at stage 2 to be sure that the primer did feed correctly, but is there a better way?

Hi DaveD3 and welcome to our new home. Glad to have ya'll here. Don't know much about the SDB, maybe you can elaborate a little. I have a XL650. I use a primer flip tray to make sure that all the primers in the tube are facing the same way when I load them in the tube. How does the SDB work? Do you load the primers first in a tube? Please let us know how your machine sets up the primer feed and we can get this fixed for ya.

Same principle, load the tube first and then pour them in.

Default SDB

Dave : Call Dillon and ask them. I suspect an outdated plastic tip on the feed tube. They have a new type of plastic that is a definite improvement. It fixed mine.

same advice - some sort of failure at the point the primer is transferred, OR you are jerking the handle on the return / up stroke - that can cause the primer to bobble around / turn over.
And keep the primer cup clean as well.
