Alarm raised over treaty provision to ban activity

President Obama, who supported the handgun ban in Washington, D.C., before it was tossed by the Supreme Court, since his election has watched various proposals to ban "assault" weapons, require handgun owners to submit to mental health evaluations, and sparked a rush on ammunition purchases that caused some retailers to name him their salesman of the year. Now he apparently is going after those to reload their ammunition.

It was during an official visit earlier this month to Mexico that he affirmed his support for a proposed international treaty that addresses "firearms trafficking."

According to a blogger who follows such issues, the treaty was adopted by President Clinton years ago, but never ratified by the U.S. Senate, a goal Obama now has adopted.

The writer, B.A. Lawson, says, "If you reload your own ammo you may find yourself engaged in 'Illicit Manufacturing' of ammunition under an arms control treaty that President Obama started pushing last week in Mexico."

Frankly, I'm surprised that they didn't think of this earlier. The same technique that curtailed the manufacture of distilled spirits could be used. Reloaders could be prosecuted for possessing ‘unstamped’ ammo, a TAX violation.

Why not? I am going to be guilty of so much after this congress gets through. Might as well get shot for reloading as criticising Obama, homosexuals, and other odd democrats or failing to register or turn in my guns. Today, earthday, I will do my part for global warmin by burning more ice storm debris. That should be a hanging offence soon enough. Whatever.

If some alfabet soup agency tosses in the grenade you probably have time to toss it back. Stay low though, they have some pretty good snipers. I can't see some Marine or Iraqi duty vet throwing one in your direction. Hope you live in a brick home.

Wow, this will be the first time I will know how to make anything "illicit". I will finally have something to barter with. I would love to trade my 30-06 reloading recipe for a good moonshine recipe.

Heck no brother, I live in a fox hole almost literally, I was helping my middle son build a fort a couple weeks ago and before we knew it we had one heck of a foxhole dug out that the boys in the Ardennes would have loved to have, I built him a frame with a roof and 6 inch windows all the way around... sooo, if the S-H-T-F im equipped to dig in quite literally
