Default We are no longer a Christian Nation???????

President Barack Obama said in Turkey : "We do not consider ourselves a Christian nation or a Jewish nation or a Muslim nation. We consider ourselves a nation of citizens who are bound by ideals and a set of values."

As much as I dislike BO, none of those preambles says anything about Christianity-only the belief in God.

Look at all those probable terrorist states. Didn't Baraq say there were 56 states? There must be 6 more that feel like he does. Let's see...State of Denial, State of Never Mind, State of Progress(ive), State of Mind(less), State of Moral Turpitude and State of Mendacity. Did I miss any?

This country was founded on Christian ideals. The founding of this country was God's will. How else could an army made up of a very small percentage of the colonial population be able to defeat the greatest military and colonial power of the day?

Ahhhh...but not so. Many people believe in God but do not believe that Christ is the messiah. The Jews are the most obvious example.

More than a handful of founding fathers and revolutionary generals and leaders were Freemasons. Freemasonry requires a belief in a "supreme being" but not necessarily in Jesus. It is even said that your supreme being can be "allah," or "buddah" or whoever you want it to be - as long as you have a belief in one. Ironically, all masonic oaths are taken over an open bible and biblical (not necessarily Christian) principles permeate throughout masonic life. For many leaders during the time of the revolution, masonry was church.

You may also find it interesting to note that George Washington found it impossible to reconcile Freemasonry with Christianity and stopped attending his lodge. The same thing also happened to me shortly after I reached the degree of Knight Templar. While some might not agree, I do not believe it is possible to be a follower of Christ and a Freemason at the same time.

I would not rush to assume that the United States deliberately began as a "Christian" nation. Many people may innocently think and say that it did, but I would encourage people to do their own research. Thank God that many biblical principles and divine truth seeped into the hearts of men and subsequently the founding documents of our nation!

If you dig into this subject deeply, I believe you will find that our nation adhered to many "biblical" principles, but not necessarily "Christian" values. There is a difference. While many founders were undoubtedly also Christians, there were many who were not, yet they respected biblical truths. The awesome founders that are quoted above on this thread are just a few of the signers of the Declaration of Independence.

Whatever conclusion you may believe, one thing is for certain: God indeed chose to bless this nation!

There is only one "God" and it doesn't matter whether you are a Christian, Catholic, Jew, Hindu, or whatever.

I am going to become a devotee of Hare Krishna. Which will be my religion for serving God.

We are a nation under God, but no we are not a nation of a specific religion.

Honestly I must confess I don't care for the term "Christian nation". We are a nation which has historically had a predominantly Christian population founded on Judeo-Christian principles. Just calling us a Christian nation seems to exclude the Jewish population.

More than this, being a Christian isn't a requirement for citizenship. We have athiest, Buddhist, Hindu, Muslim, and Wiccan citizens etc. Thankfully the principles of these religions were not used as a basis for our laws and constitution. For this reason, we must guard against political correctness dictating changes in our laws to accomodate the beliefs of these other religions, particularly with the influx of Muslims into the United States. They are welcome here and may practice their beliefs as long as they qualify for citizenship and accept our Judeo-Christian tradition inspired system of law and justice.

Having said all of the above I reserve my right to discriminate at the polls and refuse to vote for anyone who is neither Christian or Jew.

I might consider myself an atheist, but I would have to say that I am in a miniscule minority and that we are definitely a christian nation as a whole.

I hate to say it, but O is right! We are not a Christian Nation! Yes, our Nation was founded on Christian principles, but we abandonded our founding fathers beliefs many years ago. However, "We consider ourselves a nation of citizens who are bound by ideals and a set of values", needs to be looked at closer. The first word, We, means himself. What ideas are we bound by, the law? A set of values, what values? Cheat your neighbor? Lie? Do what ever you want? Remember, you are not a criminal, untill you get caught! Any Nation that operates on a the idea that it is bound by certain, undefined ideas, and an ambiguous set of values that have never, and can never, be defined, isn't going to stand for long! As a Nation, we should not be asking God to bless us, we should be blessing God.

Last poll taken says 85% of Americans are Christian.
I believe 85% say they are,but aren't.
If there were that many, there would be no queers, rapists, child molesters, gang violence, robberies murders or any thing else contrary to Christianity
The only time 99% of Americans call on God,is when they are sick or in trouble.
Maybe in the 1700's,but not a Christian nation today. IMO of course.

I went back to Cambodia nd left a Christian nation , when i returned it was not a Christian nation but a multi cultural nation,

now when we talk about Australian culture all those from failed nations who come here belittle our culture as only a few hundred years old and being worthless..

their cultures are thousands of years old and must be respected

so why the hell are they all here hiding from their own nation while getting my money via welfare?

my nation is what we the people say it is and the people are getting a gutfull

vote for Christ

vote for your nation

vote for your future and vote the lowlifes out

all of them

Corey a few weeks ago here we have a kaliphate conference , you have one in Chicago (sp?) recently too

know what that is ?

theres many out there who dont give a hoot about any of us except as consumers, or other income stream and then theres others still who want us dead , you me anyone not like them, gays too... dead..

should we PC them right through the door ?

we have done so here and now we have no go zones in my own nation

i read their publications and they are declaring the mosque at ground zero is proof they have won!, that many now "forget" and are more interested in their jobs than being taken over

the laws are that way now

laws for us and laws for them

they want sharia law for them and if we PC it the way we have they will get it

then you'll see whats happening in the Uk and here happening in the USA

and it'll be you being so nice and even minded that will allow this

sometime my friend you have to draw a line in the sand and say no more

sadly such is a time

or do you want it so its like all the other places they have done this ?

most notably in the balkans and former soviet subjects

as thats where this will end up

people are selling out your nation, they sold mine out a few years ago

your nation is you

soon if it continues you'll be second class and the illegals and imports will be the first class and almost untouchable

while more of them appear and live the handout life you'll have to work to support them , not all are jihadists , but most will cost you money , the mexicans work now as illegals for less than welfare money , you think they'll work if made citizens and given more to not work ?

it did not work that way here when we did it

nor in the UK and every other place its been done

one would hope you'd look at the world and realise WTF is going on , but i see your a MSM puppy, been breast fed the "stuff" for that long you beleive things will be just ok if we truely hope

we may hope

but other have had plans going for way too long and are proceeding wether we hope or not

time to make the stand corey

pc will get you extinct

Sir all do respect but there are evil people in every religious organization around the world but in every organization there is good an the majority tends to lean towards good. And excuse me but I will not let fear and hate from a minority from another religion dictate how I live. I am an American. I will not discriminate because of your gender. I will not discriminate because of your race. I will not discriminate because of your religous beliefs. I will not discriminate because of someones sexual orientation. I will not discriminate against someones nationality. I will judge the individual on there character. I am sorry sir but you who think this is a Christian country and should be ran by only Christians are mistaken. You all are good men but I am an American. And my job as an american is right on our statue of liberty and it reads
Give me your tired, your poor,
Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,
The wretched refuse of your teeming shore.
Send these, the homeless, tempest-tossed to me.
I lift my lamp beside the golden door

So I will not back down
I will never let FEAR
and hate take over me
I am an American an i will do everything I can to make sure everyone has equal rights as me and to never discriminate

"Fight those who do not believe in Allah...And the Jews say Ezra is the son of God; and the Christians say Christ is the son of God; these are the words of their mouths; they imitate the saying of those who disbelieved before; Allah's curse be on them; how they are turned away!" (Koran 9:29-30)

And if they intend to act unfaithfully towards you, so indeed they acted unfaithfully towards Allah before, but He GAVE YOU MASTERY OVER THEM (8:71)

I WILL CAST TERROR INTO THE HEARTS OF THOSE WHO DISBELIEVE. THEREFORE STRIKE OFF THEIR HEADS AND STRIKE OFF EVERY FINGERTIP OF THEM. THIS IS BECAUSE THEY ACTED ADVERSELY TO ALLAH AND HIS MESSENGER; AND WHOEVER ACTS ADVERSELY TO ALLAH AND HIS MESSENGER - THEN SURELY ALLAH IS SEVERE IN REQUITING (EVIL). THIS - TASTE IT, AND (KNOW) THAT FOR THE UNBELIEVERS IS THE PUNISHMENT OF FIRE. O you who believe! When you meet those who disbelieve marching for war, then turn not your backs to them. And whoever shall turn his back to them on that day - unless he turn aside for the sake of fighting or withdraws to a company - then he, indeed, becomes deserving of Allah's wrath, and his abode is hell; and an evil destination shall it be. So you did not slay them, but it was Allah Who slew them and you did not smite when you smote (the enemy) but it was Allah Who smote, and that He might confer upon the believers a good gift from Himself; (8:12-17)

The weak ones there will give us our dream
they will fight for us ,

all we must do is inherit it
one world one Islam , no exceptions
