That's a fine old rifle, Snakedriver; nicely done. It may be 19th century technology, but in the hands of a practised rifleman highly effective in many applications.

I agree, but since I had this second stock that wasn't in presentable condition as it was, this was a fun opportunity to do a project with it. The new textured paint seems pretty durable, so when I'm out banging around at the range, I'll probaly use this one and save the beautiful original walnut wood for dress up time. Thanks for your input.
