Well like I said I think it is an annual mag. It says 2004. If you can read what I posted well enough I could take pics of the rest and email them to you. I don't have a scanner. The mag was pricey (to me) it was $6.95. Let me know.

Nice shooting. I like the hostage poster target. Where do you get those. I can only find some real cheap looking ones. I have a site also if you want to snoop. http://www.angelfire.com/mt/bowhunting/, I had to do some updating on that site, about forgot about it. Never get any emails from it, so I almost forgot I had it.

Thanks, I wish I could shoot more often now that I found the rounds I like. I got my optics for it yesterday, but I need to get different mount. I thought I had a 30mm tube but its really a 1in.
I got the first M4 mill-dot 16x long range scope with parallax on the side. My buddy got it with duplex reticle and sent it back to Leupold and had them put mill-dot on it. He went to a few sniper matches and everybody else wanted one too, so they started offering it with mill-dot ever sense. The targets, I got them from http://snipersparadise.com look to the right side on the homepage. should say download targets. thats where I got 'em

Very good shooting Kaylan!!!! Looks like I need to look into some 155's. Do you know of any factory loadings of this bullet? I'm kind of SOL on reloading right now. (No access to a press.)

no, sorry I don't know of any factory loads. I only shoot molly coats and my buddy loads them for me. last Sat. I was trying out a few with different powder and grains. I liked the 155gr. best. He use to shoot those for long range. (1000yds +)When you get ready for loading PM me I'll give you the specs. on'em.
Federal Gold match 155gr. are out there but I've never shot any. They should be close to what I have.

I am about to dive into the world of the "eurorifle". I am an operational rifleman for a special ops police unit, so I am not new to the process, just this particular rifle. I need a couple of questions answered if any has a minute.
1. can the lrs2 be loaded with individual rounds, if the mag is run dry? 2. To avoid running the mag dry, can additional rounds be fed into the top of the magazine while it is in the gun and the bolt is run back. 3. does the large extractor make it difficult to remove a round from the bolt ( before it ejects, as if you were going to replace a round with one of another type 4. finally, how much force, compared to a rem pss, is required to work the straight pull bolt. thanks guys, I am trying to get all the info i can before I dip in the fund for this machine. Treed, I've got an older LRS - you can see some pics earlier in the post, but I think the answer to the questions will be the same LRS or LRS II.
1.) 2.) Answer at the same time - you can top feed the mag, there is plenty of room on mine. I single feed by pushing a round in the top and closing the bolt. (note - I have not tried just dropping one on top of the feed lips like on a 700 - not sure that would work.) 3.) No it does not, you pull it back slowly and it will pivot the round out to the right to be snatched out. No issues here that I've noticed. 4.) No comparison on effort - the appears to be more mechanical advantage on the Blaser design during the dhort arc that the bolt handle moves before unlocking and travelling to the rear. Its a real natural movement too. Its an expensive piece of hardware - but it will give the PSS a real run for the money. Plus, you get multi shooter adjustability, like a M-24, if that's important to your unit. I know its in use by European PD's - Portugal comes to mind as having a recent CNS encounter in the last year or so. Hope this helps!! |

treed, like you, myself and my LT. are the Dept. snipers and we both have a Blaser. His is the older. Smash pretty much answered your question, all I can tell you is I've gotten consistent .08 and .10 MOA with this rifle. Bolt motion is more fluid, more natural and faster. Can cycle like a semi- auto with practice. But thats just my opinion. It's very versitile. Just need to change the bolt group left or right. barrel change out takes less than 30 sec.
Hope this helps ![]()

BTW guys,
I found a pretty cool litlle explorer based target program on the net. I think it was called Target Masters.. has lots of good zero targets, plus numerous "game" style targets that change things up a little. I always put my guys on a tight clock, that triples the difficulty of the shot. I will dig up the CD i put the program on, and see if it is small enough to mail. |
