M1 Carbine

I have a M1 Carbine manufactured by United Postal Meter. Serial # 4094XXX.
Does anyone have any info on when it may have been manufactures?

There's a book at Amazon that lists serial numbers of all of the M1 Carbines produced. For a quick reference though, look at the date on the barrel....it will be marked for instance: 07-43. That's the barrel date and the weapon itself won't be far off of that if it hasn't been changed out.

Someone here may have the book to reference the exact date of manufacture.
