Can you post any more pics of the rifle? In particular closeups of the markings?
I've seen a couple King rifle sights like that before on 40's era Savage & Winchester lever guns but the I also suspect patent date should be "Aug. 15 1933" or just "Aug 15. 33" ...I don't have any pix of those rifles since they just passed through the shop that I helped out in a few years back. They were made by the King Gunsight Company in San Fran, CA.
From one of the Hi Standard sites on the web, here's a copy of an old Kings catalog. this should be the page showing all their ladder style rear sights, and a couple pages before it will be the model fitment chart.
As for the rest of the rifle, it looks pretty original to me. It's not a trapper, it looks like an 18" or 20" saddle-ring carbine but do the cleaning rod length check that moddober suggested to get the length.
30 WCF is indeed 30-30 Winchester.
I can't help you out with date of manufacture, but I know there are several guys around here that know more about the older '94s. Hopefully they see your post.
