Show us a picture of you favorite 22 pistol and if you have more then one include your second. My picks represent my choices based on accuracy and feel. They are both outstanding shooters but the 17-4 with 8 3/8 barrel is a laser beam as it's accuracy is actually scary.

I like this one. The mag release is in an awkward place for a holster. But it shoots well, if I do my part.
![]() It actually belongs to 'Scout' the cat. He says he lost it in a horrible boating accident. (He doesn't own a boat...silly kitty)![]()

I guess I would have to say that my Ruger 22/45 is my favorite. I put a red-dot scope on it and it sure shoots great.

Forgot to mention my favorite .22.
I'm torn between my Winchester 9422 and Rossi model-39 (Copy of Winchester model-62) For pistols I only have two, a High Standard Duramatic 101 and a Ruger MkII. For comfort and accuracy I'd go with the HS. Last edited by Danwin22; 04-22-2013 at 07:33 PM.. |

Love them all, but if it's gotta be just one then it's my '53 Ruger Automatic pistol (no MK). Shows only holster wear and has been someone's field companion for many years. Shoots well and is a real nice piece. Somewhere along the line it got the old checkered walnut grips with the black logo on the left side. Sorry no pics

Currently my S&W 22A. Before that it was my Browning Buckmark that I sold
![]() I had a Taurus 9 shot and I still have my Grandmother's High Standard 6" barrel. While I'm not a big S&W fan (politics, not gun issues), this .22 has shot wonderfully with cheap ammo. ![]() Almost forgot my Colt Peacemaker .22 / .22 WMR ![]()

My favorite has to be the Ruger 22/45. The Walther P22 is fun, bit it sure is picky about ammo

Greetings;
After years of dreaming of a S&W Mod. 41, my wife finally gave me one for my Birthday. I've been through many others but the Smith 41 is the best, as you just have to hold one in your hand. My second best is an affordable Mitchell Arms Citation II(High Standard copy). Regards Last edited by skoda; 07-18-2009 at 10:40 AM.. |

Hey Skoda,
What a beautiful pair of .22 Autos. I'd like to have them and also a Browning Medalist so I could quit dreaming about what .22 pistol to buy next. After those three, what's left? |

Hi Danwin22;
I also wish I could own a Browning Medalist as they are fine reliable target guns. Unfortunately all I could afford is this Browning Bullseye with a BEC Miradot($14.99) from cdnninvestments.com, a cheap sight, however works just as well as my Ultradot. The Bullseye is a good gun with an out of the box trigger that rivals my Mod.41, but it's certainly not a Medalist! I recently moved to Ocala are you anywhere nearby? Skoda,
That Browning Bullseye doesn't look too shabby to me. I'd be proud to own that puppy. You have some very nice .22's. I just like the Medalist for it's great wood and overall classy look. It would probably be a "Safe Queen" while I shot less expensive guns. Yeah, I live in Sanford. I just spent a lot of time running between Shand's Hospital in Gainsville for an operation in December and several follow-up vistits. Our grand daughter has a horse so we love the horse farms we pass in Ocala on the way to Gainsville. We're moving our horse Monday to a nice shady farm with lots of turn-out and grazing area. Abby is our grand-daughter on Chloe, her Paint/Pinto Quarter horse. Last edited by Danwin22; 04-22-2013 at 07:33 PM.. |

Hi Danwin22;
You also have some nice looking and I'm sure great shooting firearms. I trust you've recovered nicely from the operation and shooting them again. My wife and I belong to the Ocala Sportsmans Association and have a great range near Belleview. You have a long drive from Sanford to Gainesville and hope you don't have to do it many more times. I suspect you are quite proud of your Grand daughter, she seems to be an accomplished horsewoman. Take care. Regards Carl |

My favorite .22 already has it's picture posted, the Model 41 S&W. I have a long and a short heavy barrel for it. It is a tack driver. I've had mine for many years. I bought a S&W model 22A to plink with and after the piece of junk came back from a six week stay at their so called repair facility I gave it away. It wasn't any better when I got it back. I have a Ruger that I bought to replace the 22A that I really like.

Skoda, I'm happy with the pistols I have so far but would love to upgrade to the quality of yours.
Yeah, I'm done with the trips to Gainsville but still have to get cataract surgery in my right eye at the end of this month. The grand daughter is only eleven years old and she has more ribbons and trophies than I can count. She throws them into dresser drawers in her closet. The only thing she keeps out is her World Champion belt buckle from the American Pinto Championships in Tulsa, OK. |
