Picked up this Model 41 with the hard to find Field barrel this week and it shoots great! Useing CCI Standard Velocity I put 100rnds thru it today with no problems at all. 2 clicks on the sights and it was perfect.

My birthday was in May, and you missed it, so I'll send you my address so you can ship it to me. Nice score. My Model 41 is my favorite handgun. I've had it for years, with two barrels.

I had a couple 41's back in the early 80's and had to part with them and I always said I would get another one(s) someday. I picked up a 5.5in one awhile back and I only wish I could shoot it as well as it deserves. This one is a keeper also. |

I have collected S&W 41 barrels for years. Have seventotal. There is the two 7 1/2" brake model and a 5 1/2" with the adjustable extended sight.I have four differant "Sporter Barrels" or field barrel if you wish. All four field barrels are slighty differant. They are older barrels and all mount on the gun without a problem and all function perfectly.

Great gun purchase on your model 41 as they are great shooters. I always blew off the purchase of one because I didn't believe the hype and I had an excellent shooting custom Ruger mark II. Well I broke down and bought a 1968 Model 41 with muzzle brake and then I became a believer. I just purcahsed a Model 41 with heavy barrel and picked it up a few days ago and it's in 99% condition.
What exactly is a field model ![]() Model 41 with 5 inch heavy barrel. ![]() ![]() Model 41 with 7 inch barrel with muzzle brake. ![]() ![]() |
