Infantry Soldiers Were Not Issues Sidearms, Mostly 30.06 M-1 Garrands... Officers Carried The 1911 ACP Or In The Case Of General George S. Patton Provided His Own "Revolver." They Were Picked Up By Soldiers As Bring Backs. My Father (Not Issued A Pistol) Brought Back A Walther PP .32 Which I Have And It Shoots The Antennas Off A Nat !!!

The image you are refering to (Image 1) was an "Airborne" Unit. They had 1911's and the M-1 Carbine's.

That is a nice looking Luger, I have never seen one with the Swastika cut into the grip like that. Mine is a byf (Mauser) made in 1941.
I don't go into the User CP very often because it seems so hard to figure out. It seems a little intimidating to me.

gdmoody... Don't feel like the "Lone Ranger" ~ Intimidating to me also. That is why I have not yet gotten the "Group" thing up with images. Guess You can now view my Albums in my profile (?)
I added the Grips, but still have the originals. The mag's match the SN of the Luger and I have shot it a few times. Straight and Narrow !!! Good Shooten Iron ! ![]() "The Rebel" NRA Member U.S. Army Vet 1968-1971 Signal Corps Govt. Employee - 31 Years
