SW 2nd model Americam, in .44S&W caliber is pretty sure what I think it is. Sent letter off today to confirm with SW. Really a neat part of history but I am an modern shooter. Assembly numbers are all there and match. SN on butt matches grips. Funtions flawless with a hair trigger.

The current Flayderman's Guide lists value in Good condition as $1400.

Just repeating Flayderman's, but condition makes all the difference these days: Value listed for Fine condition is $3500, but your example doesn't appear to exceed "Good" any. It would also be worth more if in .44 Henry rimfire ($2500 Good, $6000 Fine).
