Default Colt 1911 Aficionado's - The Time is Almost Here...

Okay..., so I was just thinking... here it is 2009 almost 2010, and there ought to be some HUGE influx of Centennial Editions of the classic Colt 1911 in the works.

I haven't heard anything about this but I am sure there are more than a few manufacturers out there thinking about the big day, rubbing their grimy little hands together and I for one... can't wait to see what is in store for all of us aficionado's out there! I guess I better start saving my dollars now. Anybody heard anything about the big upcoming event or is this just all in my little pea brain? Maybe I should work for Colt or one of the many clone manufacturers out there.

Can't wait to see what the boys have on the drawing boards for the big Birthday Bash - The 100 Year Anniversary of the Colt 1911!!

You know, that had completely slipped by me.

100 years IS right around the corner isn't it? Next year should bring news of what ever is going to happen. I'll have to pay attention.

I sure would like to see a production Colt 1911 with a double stack mag!

1. Remember, O LORD, what is come upon us: consider, and behold our reproach.
2. Our inheritance is turned to strangers, our houses to aliens.
3. We are orphans and fatherless, our mothers [are] as widows.
5. Our necks [are] under persecution: we labour, [and] have no rest.
16. The crown is fallen [from] our head: woe unto us, that we have sinned!
21. Turn thou us unto thee, O LORD, and we shall be turned; renew our days as of old.

As far as a commemorative for the 1911 centennial I believe there is only one manufacturer that has the right to it and that is Colt. For the pistol to have any merit it needs to have the Pony stamped on it and Colt is the only company that can do that. As far as getting one I'll have to wait and see. I am particular to the way a gun looks and I like my cheese on burgers and crackers.
