What type of rear sight do you prefer? Peep? Ghost ring?

Everything from colored fiberoptic sights (for the three-dot effect), to traditional peep sights, to ghost ring sights.

The Marlin 39A is an exceptionally accurate rifle. A lot of people opt for a scope.

I like the Williams apeture sights.

Converts the rear sight to either an apeture (peep) or ghost ring style, depending on model.

I have the foolproof sight on my Marlin 1894, click adjustable for windage & elevation, and fairly neat fit to the reciever.

Check out what is there & see which you like best

Dejohns6 -

If your eyes are young and you can see iron sights well, there's nothing wrong with the sights that come on the Marlin. If you figure you just need a little help, the fiber optic sights work well. If you plan to try to shoot as small a group as possible on paper, your eyes are too young anymore, or you want to hunt with optic aid, then a scope is what you need.

Any or all of the above can be had thru Andrew at:

He'll make you a fair deal on whatever you decide.

Williams makes an excellent peep(attaches to the reciever) that I have had on my 39A for 25 years now and it works better than I can see anymore.

I put a Simmons Mag 22 4x on mine and I never miss anymore. For $35 you can't beat it.
some people think it is blasphemy to scope a lever gun but I think it looks cool and as I said, I never miss now.
