Parts for the CD 1911 are mil-spec. 1911 parts will work fine and would require no more fitting for the CD than any other mil-spec 1911.
The Charles Daly 1911's were made by Armscore in the Philippines. They have been producing good quality 1911 pistols for a long time and they provide frames and parts for a lot of other gun manufactures. |

Being that you have already shot your friends 1911 if you are happy with it you should go ahead and buy it if you are happy with the price being offered. |

All that i know is that they are made in the Phillippines & the parts are exchangable with all Colt's 1911's & copies.

I have tested several of the RIA branded Philippines made 1911's, several years ago, when they listed for about $300.00.
They seemed well made, finished, and to have good "service pistol" accuracy. At least one near new one was finicky relative to reliability; but did not seem to have any problems that a couple of hundred "break in" shots or a little light adjustment would not fix. I think that their frames and slides are investment cast steel as opposed to being forgings. Even so they seemed like a good value for a "range pistol" (that will likely never fire 5000 shots) as compared to spending at least $500.00 (at the time) for several other brands. |
