I can answer these questions for you.
CZ-USA gets their vz58 rifles from Czechpoint. The difference in the finish is the "gloss" black, seems to be preferred by the American market and the "grey" finish, which is the original color. Czechpoint has both and all the other variants of the rifle. Czechpoint also has many new developements in the works for the rifle and the Scorpion (I really like the nickel Scorpion). The receivers are milled and assembled in Czecheslovakia and the rifle is imported as a single stack rifle then CNC'd here to accept the hi-cap magazine. There is no mistake the Czechpoint rifles are made totally over seas. The only vz58 that are assembled in US are Century built units from parts kits which are hit or miss in the quality.

No I do not work for czechpoint but have looked into these rifles and pistols a bunch. I am sure when the 380 Scorpion is available I will have one of the first available to the public.
