I bought a ss 10/22 at a pawnshop and am going to customize it with a Claude Gatewood stock. The Kidd barrels are 20% off now and am considering using that barrel. Would like to know your opinions on this barrel good and bad.

I haven't heard of Kidd barrels, but then again, I'm fairly new to 10/22 customizing. I just purchased my first - a Green Mountain SS Fluted 18". I really like it and it goes well with my stainless receiver and applejack colored Boyds stock. Others that were recommended to me when I was looking:
Tactical Solutions (lightweight) Volquartsen (nothing but praise from everyone I spoke to) Butler Creek Adams and Bennett By the way (hope you don't mind me asking) - Where did you find a pawn shop in San Antonio that didn't charge a rediculous price for a firearm? I've been in several lately and I see a lot of rusty junk with high price tags. I used to find my best deals in pawn shops, but not lately. I'd really like to find another good one to frequent. All the best, Glenn |

It was in Universal City, a stainless steel on synthetic stock with the original steel trigger housing. Paid $189 , the trigger had been replace with a power custom, just got lucky.

The Kidd barrel is considered to be one of the best. There are a number of very good barrels. Differences are probably small. You can probably buy on price and personal preference.
