I found in my bookcase a nice color brochure from the 1980's (I think) from Mauser-Werke saying they were re-making Luger pistols. It shows some really nice engraved ones and an artillery - long barrel one. All the pistols in the pictures are fancy engraved jobs, but it says they were doing them in the standard version also. I have never heard of any of these being shown or sold, does anyone know if they really did make some - how many? They would be very expensive I guess.

They made a few. They were not a financial success. Most go for under $1K. Some very limited models go for much more.

I have one. Mauser P-08 "Swiss" model with a grip safety. My only Luger.
My gun has the American Eagle engraving over the chamber. It is a very well made gun. I've shot about 300 rounds of Remington FMJ through it and it functions perfectly. +1 to Hammer on the prices. Mauser P-08s are not expensive as Lugers go. |
