(from Wall Street Journal/Patrick Yoest) "WASHINGTON -- The Senate Finance Committee debated health-care legislation for a second day Wednesday, adopting a couple of Democratic-backed amendments and turning down Republican ones, including a measure to make the full bill available online before the panel votes on it. The committee has a "conceptual" version of the health-care bill posted on its Web site, rather than a full legislative text of the bill. Compiling the complex language with amendments into a bill and consequently receiving an official cost estimate would take weeks, according to the committee's chairman, Sen. Max Baucus. By a 12-11 vote, the committee defeated a Republican amendment that would have required it to post the full bill at least 72 hours before it votes on whether to approve the measure...." This is outrageous....for all the good it will do me, I will once again be spending my "dime" on calling my senators. I wonder if THEIR phones are off the hook, too?!

But still, will it be to late to overturn/shutdown these socialistic programs in 2010?

You know it is just like everything else government does. I remember when they started the seat belt laws. They said that it would only be enforced when there were other infractions causing a traffic stop. Then if the driver was not wearing the seat belt that driver would be fined for that as well. Now they can pull you over for not wearing your seat belt alone.
So if this passes, in short time we will have total government health care. That means that the government will be making decisions when your dad, mom, aunts, uncles, grandmothers and grandfather develop health issues. If your dad is over weight at 65, smoked some time in his life and now has heart problems he will be judged by people that are concerned about the money only. That is going to happen, it is only a matter of time. This needs to be stopped not compromised. The federal government has no right being involved in heath care in any way at all. |

The Government can't even run a "Cash fo Clunkers" deal without loosing money and sticking it to the taxpayers. how in H3LL are the going to administer an effective healthcare? they can't and won't. we will pay and pay and pay..... forever for nothing...as usual. get ready to get shafted again by our government. nothing but a greedy self-serving SOB's.

Marlin, you are so right! The Repubilcans have 5 bills on Health Care on the Hill at this time. If this crap gets voted into law, there is not a Republican that will be interested in voting it out. Why, because it's what they want also! A Republican controled House and Senate will not help the American people at all.

Both sides are power/money hungry, treasonous losers! They are both sticking it to the American people. The more that realize this, the better. Repubs and Dems are the SAME, one coin, two sides. If only we used real coin money, instead of paper. The corruption runs wide and deep. The answer is NOT a return to a Repub controlled congress in 2010. The repubs are NOT your friend.

Ain't no place to go if this country falls to totalitarianism. We are the last outpost of freedom for the entire human race.

I think the best thing is a clean sweep of our gobvernmental fools. If'n all of them loose their jobs, the next batch of power hungry fools might want to listen to the people in order to stay in power a little longer. Third party is definately needed, but so far they have just got enough votes to get the worst people elected. The left wing radicals will vote for their socialist, and the silent majority gets split between the better 2 nominees. Wish I knew the answer, looks like were stuck.

I'd vote for that ticket. But the "fair and impartial" media will do everything they can to railroad that ticket into oblivion and convince the sheeple that they can't win the election.

If they want to see really angry protests, just let them jam this crap down our throats with some sort of sneaky mid night vote or other parliamentary procedure. Then we start the revo.lution in earnest.

There's too many "parties" now. That's what caused the issue when the handgrenade with a bad hair cut ran (Ross Perot). The votes are getting split so bad that the dems continue to remain united. WE Conservatives keep SCREWING IT UP!
There are conservative dems, repubs, libertarians, blah blah blah.... we need to run 1 candidate with the conservative values that ALL the patriots of this nation can get behind instead of continuing to splinter our vote by "party." Damn all of the parties. I'll back the candidate who exudes the long held American values and a belief in: Quote:
