Default Range report - 2nd time ever with 1911

Well I went yesterday with Dad and his buddy and I was tearin' it up! It was the 2nd time with my first handgun and I did very well for a newbie. It was shooting a little to the left last Sunday right out of the box and I haven't adjusted it. Any suggestions/helpers on adjusting the sights on my Hoss? Or is it just pound it a few mags, adjust, pound, adjust...?

how much is a tad to the left and at what distance??? 1911s have LH twist rifling and do tend to torque the pistol in that direction, you may be simply firing too fast. if the gun is new, shoot it in real good before you adjust anything, and try different brands of ammo. after about 3 or 4 hundred rounds and it still shoots left, drift the rear sight right a touch (a little goes a long way on a pistol)...
