I have a .45 cal. CVA Pennsylvania-type percussion rifle.
How easy is it to convert it to flintlock? I see one thread on this in the archives but there's not much info in it. (I also have a CVA flintlock pistol and enjoy it so I thought I'd try flint rifle.) Thanks, JP

If your barrel uses a drum and nipple then you can replace the drum and nipple with a vent liner. The hard part is finding a flint lock that will match the percussion lock recess that you currently have on the rifle. If CVA makes a flint lock for a simular rifle then go ahead and purchase that lock. Install the vent liner and flint lock and enjoy.

Thanks for the tip! It got me to thinking, and I realize now that the flint and cap locks look quite interchangeable among some of the CVA guns. Then I googled a bit and found that Track of the Wolf sells conversion locks (going both ways) for about $135. So there's a couple routes to go!
