Default Black Friday

Anyone going out in search of good deals? Is it worth it? Heh. I glanced through a Gander Mountain ad yesterday, seems like all the stores are on that sales technique. All 'Black Friday' means to me is strong coffee, so far...I worked in retail a while back and this did not really exist then (I can't imagine getting caught up in those crowds!)

why fight the crowds, this x-mas is going to look better than last years but still down from what they need or want. the nearer it gets to x-mas the better the deals will get

Going to pay real estate taxes and get an oil change in my wifes car. We are in the full blown get ready to head south mode.

No shopping today, I don't like people shopping, rude, and smelly.

Terry, where you going?

I was going to this year as 1.) I have the day off and 2.) I normally get up at 4AM anyway. My family, last night, talked me out of it. Told me I could either find it this weekend during reasonable hours or online at probably a better price. Fine with me. I just got up....so I got to sleep in (till 0530---Woo Hoo!)

Southeast Texas to an RV Park run by Kleberg County called Seawind. This will be our 5th year there and is the only park I have ever found with a skeet range on one end. You have to love Texas. I also have access to land to hunt deer and another piece for hog hunting so I'm a happy camper.

We went to the Florida Keys for two years and they started selling RV Parks (including ours) in the real estate boom down there and throwing out the hated RV'ers so we headed west. They never built the condo's and still have an RV park at Knights Key but we will stick with TX.

I have to buy coffee and dog food, and that's as much shopping as I'm doing today! According to the news, nutty people spent the night standing in line to be the first ones in. That's just crazy. Lot's of deals to be had on more than just this day. Don't want to deal with frantic people willing to spend the night freezing in a parking lot.

Back to the drawing board for me today.

Everyday crowds are bad enough when it comes to attitude.

I wish everyone would just boycot gift giving altogether.
Specially cards. 10 cents to print, and costs 3.50.
What a bunch of whores.

Can't we just say what we feel any more?

Why is a gift required for any occasion?

I think all holidays should just implode.
If you wanna give a gift, make one. It will be cherished for a lifetime, and has no warranty expiration.

Bah Humbug!

We always get our grandson to make cards for his relatives and ours. We get poster paper, crayons, paint, whatever he needs. He writes what he wants to, draws what he wants. I think it's better than buying something.

Well I was wearing something hot....but then he called all bummed out....his truck broke down the other day and he was trying all morning to fix it....but we'll see what happens.... I might take a ride and go to his town instead...
he's gonna try and get it fixed first.

We used to go to Knights Key which was right at the 7 Mile bridge in Marathon. In Islamorada they used to have a Cuban restaurant called "Manny and Isseys". I actually read about them in a book on fishing by Ted Williams as he used to go there for the cuban sandwiches in the 70's. They were good but the Key Lime Pies they used to make were absolute perfection. They picked their own limes and then topped the pie with a meringue. They sold pieces or whole pies for only about $10-12. Our last year down there they retired and sold out. It was a deep, deep tramatic event.

Yes, bravo. Greeting cards are an annoyance, expensive, overly chatty and pointless.
