When Dan Wesson started producing 1911's the Patriot was the flagship of the line. They had forged frames and slides and were hand fit right from the factory. I own three and would not part with any of them. The price you paid was very good if the pistol was in the condition you described. New ones sold for about $750-$800. I consider them a bargain even at that price and because they were basically a limited production gun are very hard to find as all the pre-CZ guns are. You did good grabbing the one you got. Enjoy!
