Default hobbies

I did a forum search for hobbies and nothing really came up.

What do you like to do in your spare time for fun and relaxation?

I love to cook. Not much for recipe following unless it's for baking (bread, pastries, etc.). I enjoy fishing when I can. My idea of a video game is Pong or tailgunner, so the current stuff is WAY over my head. So that's out.
Have several kites I like to fly, and used to do a lot of needle point.
I once did a full size version of The Greatful Deads American Beauty album on the back of a Levi jacket.

Enjoy gardening, but live in a condo now.

That is so cool.

I used to do a bit of needlepoint. I like to refinish furniture, electronic gadgets and computers. I'm crazy for knitting and make my own wool socks, mittens, sweaters and things. My hobbies come and go, I can tie fishing nets, I'm a quilter and I really have to get back into sewing gun cases.

I have a Rainbow Stunt Kite that I need to get back up in the sky. But, I think what I enjoy most is just walking around creek beds and in the woods looking for interesting rocks and fossils. I could spend the rest of my life doing just that.

Play 2nd chair trombone in a community band.

Run a beagle pack for pleasure and field trial some in ARHA PP trials.

Go to a lot of different small churches in the area with my wife, who sings in a duet at them.

No. I just do scale flight. I don't get off on watching a heli got upside-down. It's......un-natural.

I mostly use it to blow off my driveway and my roof.

Shooting (obviously), camping in a tent both out of a car and out of a canoe, human powered vehicles, bicycles, Trikkes, canoes. Lately the wife and I are going to the gym and working out which I guess qualifies as a "hobby" as it is discretionary activity. I also work on the cars but I wouldn't call that a hobby as I do not enjoy it and would not do it if it weren't necessary.

Restoring antique American made pocket watches, playing in a classic rock band, working on cars which I do enjoy, a small amount of gunsmithing, and of course hunting and fishing.

I read, reload, shoot, hunt, fish, walk, workout, work on the house when we're home, travel, explore and camp. Next summer we will visit at least 10 national parks as we will leave in May and return in Sept. The summer after back to Alaska.

Wow......the list......I enjoy Saltwater aquariums (I have three: one 90g and two 10g tanks. One of the 10g tanks has a mated pair of false perculas and the other is 'cooking' and will eventually become a Seahorse tank---the miniature kind).

Also, I like repairing and restoring antique clocks.

I have a train set---Post WWII American Flyer that I have repaired and restored. I am working on the diorama now in fact. It needs a bit of cleaning as my clips don't carry much voltage...the 8x8 table has it spread a little thin....I need to hook up my second transformer on a dedicated circuit.

Also, I like to play drums and bass. I get on my kit whenever I can. Bass I have just started and am learning now.

I used to be into astronomy until my telescope (and ALL my eyepieces were stolen). I had a 10.1" Dobsonian reflector. My next telescope is going to be a 16" Meade reflector...complete with computer and counterbalances.

Also, as we speak, I am starting to build a new computer system. Looking at the i7 920 processor and it's corresponding MoBo as the anchor.

I also enjoy studying physics (Superstring theory). Some authors are very difficult to understand (Lisa Randall). Some are easier (Brian Greene and Michio Kaku)

I do far too much. My problem is that I enjoy everything.

I use to do a lot of camping and canoing in my younger days. Reading, fishing.
Couple of years ago I got back into building plastic models as therapy for my hands after I lost the feeling in them.
I've had to pretty much give up on all of the outdoor stuff, including shooting due to my health. Sucks large.
