This is the same guy who is touring the country with race hustler Sharpton. He also jumped on the global warming bandwagon.

Newt sounds good, but certainly isn't a conservative.

He's not conservative. He's a RINO. And he's more of the same, cut from the same cloth as W and Obama. From the same political machine - taking us to more governmental control, just not as fast as the progressives.

What's you opinion of Mike Huckabee, former governor of Arkansas....? I like the man, but he recently bore the brunt of pardoning that carrer criminal who eventually killed the 4 police officers....I do like the man and I suppose if I had to choose someone, I'd choose Huckabee...I haven't voted since the ticket of Ross Perot/Admiral Stockdale...Dang, how long ago was that...My wife says it makes no sense, withholding my vote the way I contend...how else can I show my distain for a broken system....? Besides the mass release of bad guys doing his term as governor, he didn't perform well in Republican debates when he was running for Prez.

As for Perot/Stockdale that was in 92, that 3rd party ticket drew 20%, resulting in Clinton. Again in 96 Perot/Choate ticket resulted in Clinton. Perot's two presidential runs, resulted in the country ending up with Clinton who in 92 & 96 won with less than 49% of the vote.

Huckabee is probably a nice enough guy. Seems genuine. But he's republican. We can't keep going where the well has dried up. The republican party has done nothing but successfully "reinvent" themselves after each loss, so they again gain power, then give the voter the shaft. Is the shaft as big or bad as when the progressive/commies are in power (like now)? No, but we get shafted into the same direction nonetheless -- toward total governmental control.

If all the gun owners in America had voted 3rd party (a la Libertarian), we wouldn't be in as bad a fix we're in.

I'm not so naive to think that one election will fix everything - I'm just so sick and tired of the failed 2 parties screwing us over all the time (sorry for the vernacular). I'm ready to give another party a whirl, especially one that is for so radically smaller a government.

I too am extremely frustrated. I don't know what to do either. I'm afraid we're witnessing the death of the greatest nation on earth. I tremble to think what the next few years will bring.
