Smith & Wesson model 617 revolver. The CZ 452 FS rifle is nice, too.
Why: Accuracy counts.

Have had a Mossberg Plinster, HATED IT! Sold it after the 2nd time shooting. It was for the daughter and it would jam 90% of the time. Took it to the gun shop that I bought it from and had the gunsmith look it over. Nothing wrong with it. Traded it in on the Marlin cant remember the model but it was a tube fed. Like it alot. Bought my wife a Ruger 10/22 and we were fighting over it, so I sold the Marlin and bought myself a 10/22. The daughter is currently using my old Stevens(Savage) Model 62. She has shot my 10/22 and like the fact that we can get 25rnd mags vs her having to load the 10rd clip over and over. Maybe on her birthday she will get a 10/22.
On a side note, have you looked at .17hmr? I had a Savage bolt action and it was great! When we went shooting, I forgot to tell the daughter that the "tinkers" were for the 22s only. She shot the .17hmr and scored 3 hits before I realized what happened. We went to the targets and noticed in the 3/16" steel "tinkers" at 25yrds, ![]()

Man, that is a hard question. I would hate to give up any of them. However, if I could keep only one, I guess it would have to be my Marlin 39A Golden Mountie.

Limiting someone to just one .22 would be a crime! I refuse! I want them all!

I'd have to keep a Marlin Mod. 60. Most accurate out-of-the-box gun I've seen. But then I've had my Single Six for over 35 years...

I see I'm not the only one that would probably choose the Marlin Model 60. I have a Ruger 10/22 and love the simplicity in its design, but it's not as accurate as my Model 60 is. It would be a tough choice between a Model 60 and a Single Six.
For the sake of answering the question, I'll say my Model 60. I already have it and know its accuracy. |

My Rossi 62SAC (16.25", nickel, carbine) - good accuracy, reliable - hold back the trigger and pump all 14 rounds out in a few seconds. Fun and easy to carry - takes down, also.

Really I would have a hard time with choosing one .22.....
I love my 10/22 but I also love my .22 Remington Fieldmaster pump...LOL I love the 10/22 because I can make almost any changes that I could dream up to the rifle but I also love my Remington Fieldmaster because it is as old as the hills, ya know,...classic...and it still shoots as accurately and smoothly as any other .22 that I`ve ever owned. I can`t say one way or the other OP...sorry. |
