If I could have just one .22 rimfire it would be the Remington Model 552
speedmaster pump. It's not a semi-auto so you could use it in States like Pennsylvania where you can't use a semi-auto for hunting. It is almost as fast as a semi-auto for repeat shots. It holds a bunch of ammo in its tubular magazine and it shoots long rifle, longs and shorts. Zeke |

Marlin Golden 39A. I bought it for my dad in 1974 and when he passed it was left to me. Took it out of the safe the other day and the weaver K4W scope was right where he set it twenty nine years ago.

H&R model R-93 six inch heavy barrel is really accuurate, especially resting on a shooting bench, like at the gun range. Also, sounds and feels good while firing it.

From a parts available point of view, my 10/22 wins hands down. From an accuracy point of view, my old Savage 23A is the most accurate (for me) .22 I've ever owned.

I'd probably lean towards a Marlin 60.
I've shoot more round through it than I'd ever care to count and it eats any 22 ammo I feed it.

Either a Marlin 39a, king of lever 22's or one of my CZ's, probably the 452 Full Stock because it looks so cool and is so accurate. Don't make me pick just one!

It would have to be my Rem.Fieldmaster 121.My Dad got it in 1939 for his 17th b-day.He gave it to me in 1979.It is 71 yrs.old and shoots like it just came out of the box.Only modification was a scope mount, everything else is original.

For rifles I only got one as it is and I see no reason to get another. My wife bought me one of them M69 Romanian trainers years ago. It is a tack driver and was pre beat to hell so I do not mind adding some dings while hunting with it.
Aguila 38 grain subsonic hollowpoints have fed me well for years....... It was only $60.00 too... |

I'll have to go for my winchester model 61 pump. Great rifle, and it'll never fail to get me thinking about the grandfather I never got to meet.

rifle: Marlin 39A Its record and longevity speaks for itself
handgun: Ruger Single Six The problem is "only one". I have 12 or 15 .22's, handguns and long guns combined and have no intention of selling or trading any of them. If anything, I may end up with more. |

I have a Rem Nylon 66 since 1977 in the Apachie black with the Chrome BBl, & have taken load's of woodchucks with it throught the years, combined with either CCI Stingers or Rem Yellow Jackets all work great on the chucks out to apx 100yd's, with a solid body or head shot, one shot kills with this combo. As this is my favorite rimfire gun.

Ruger 10/22, target barrel and trigger job. Have two and cant say which I like best. They shoot CCI Velocitors into dime size groups at 70 yards and never vary more than 3/4" high or low out to 90 yards.
I've owned a lot - not all, other .22's. Semi-auto, lever, bolt, single shot, match, target, hunting, revolvers, pistols and rifles. Winchester 9422, 9422M, 52B, Marlins, 39A, 60, Remingtons, Smith and Wesson, CZ, Magnum Research - heck - a whole lot of them. Ruger 10/22 as stated. ![]() |

Laugh if you want, but mine would have to be my 522 Viper (after taking the magazine apart and sanding the slider down so it would actually feed) Great little rifle. I actually rebuilt 5 other .22lr's and this is by far my favorite... But, it does have it's drawbacks, It doesn't have the aftermarket venue that a 10/22 has, and magazines need to be swapped with an American made steel replacement (cost $45.00+)... But I must also admit that trigger pull doesn't bother me, as this one is hefty... But, shot groups are very important and very impressive... I was a hater of this nylon replacement until a soldier of mine brought me this rifle to try to solve the misfeed problem they have... I fixed the problems and when he was re-assigned to Alaska and couldn't take his rifle with him, I bought it off of him and have never had another issue out of it, in 6 years...
