I have a 9mm Browning Hi Power complete with the original German black leather holster. The gun is stamped with Swastikas on the frame, slide and barrel. The gun is in very good shape with 95 % of the bluing intact, except for wear from holstering and unholstering. No rust or pitting. It has been in my family's posession since the war, and mine the past 40 years, and I have shot less than 100 rounds with it.
I am considering selling it, and would like to know what it is worth. I do not know how to post a picture since this is my first time here on the forum, but could e-mail one to interested parties. Hogmeister

Hogmeister,
The link below containes a late war Hi Power holster that is in excellent condition. http://www.collectorsfirearms.com/ad...p?itemID=33171 Please realize that the link is from a business that has priced this item for retail sale. It's probably a little high, plus it's in near mint shape. Here's a pistol / holster combo for sale. Your pistol is in better shape. http://www.gunsamerica.com/971567813...Power_Nazi.htm Art

Need to know the serial number. Is it slotted for a stock? Does it have a fixed sight or an adjustable sight?

It's fixed sight, serial # looks to be 850xxx.

I had one of these years ago. I needed some small part for it and called Browning service, told them what I had, and mentioned the Nazi markings. They told me that as far as they were concerned it was a stolen gun, and they would not sell parts for it or otherwise service it. This was based on the fact that the German regime had seized their factory and equipment to manufacture these pistols.
I sold mine in the late '80s for about $400. |

Thanks artabr.
The pistol is not slotted for a shoulder stock, has fixed rear sight, Serial # ends on an a, and based on the pics of the holster you provided a link to, my holster is in a better shape, and the original one that came with the gun when my dad relieved a German officer of it in 1945. As a matter of fact if you don't mind, you can post the pictures for me hogmeister Last edited by hogmeister; 01-08-2010 at 06:58 AM.. |

Your pistol was made in 1942-1943 and appears to be in very nice condition. With the holster and only one magazine it has a value in the neighborhood of $900.

Thanks, but it has two magazines. One in the gun and one in the holster if that changes anything.
