I purchased a mod. 57 smith about 30 years ago. Serial # is N748---; it is nickel plated and has an 8 3/8 barrel. Has the original wood box ,tools and grips. Just has mod. 57 under serial # shot enough times to put a ring around the cylinder. How much do you think it might be worth? Thanks Mike55

According to standard catalog of S&W, N748xxx is 1980, year could vary as pistols were not shipped in serial number order. S&W changed to n prefix serial number in 1969, switched to 57-1 in 1982. As new in box 650, exc 575, vg 400, good 325, fair 265, although I have seen some realize higher prices at auction. Presentation case value is in addition to above prices.
