I don't know, but I bet whoever it is won't be using a stock rifle with peep sights.
I think we ought to have a little friendly match using only rifles as they came from the factory. I realize that includes the Anschutz, and Kimbers, and Coopers, but it would still be fun. By the way, what's the plural of Anschutz Jay

I came close to buying an Anschutz, but I got the M12 instead. I know what the M12's can do, but I would've been seriously upset if the Anschutz gave me problems.
So what do you think about the "factory" match?

Not a terrible idea.
Only I've got the scope on there pretty well and I'd be hesitant to take it off. But then what fun would it be to use those tangent leaves, eh? I'll go for it next time I have the gun out. Maybe give the long range critters a little better chance .I think peep sight Jay will school me with my 3-dots, though. _z |

I feel like whatever type of iron sights you're used to will work best. At my age, the peep sights allow me to shoot without my glasses. The pinhole effect works wonders.
Hey Z......iff you're still looking for a Redfield peep sight, try this.......it's for an M12, but you can see why I jumped on the M12 with the Palma sights. I'd like to propose a "just for fun" iron sights match....honor system, post the best target out of three...one five-shot group per target.

Do I have the right idea that we're starting up another postal match?
I think I'll grab a box of Rem targets, click in the scope, do some groups, grab the best one and submit it. Then I'll go ahead and do up the iron sight thing. I sure am looking forward to banging in that dovetail tangent leaf sight. With the spring under it. With a hammer. ARG! I like my sight a lot, so I'll see what I can do with it. Are we doin 50 yard targets or what with these iron sights Jay? I can only get out weekends, and it looks like this one will be pretty crappy, but I'll do what I can. _z |

I know nothing about postal matches, other than I've heard of them.
How's this......iron sights, peeps, or notch and post... best of three targets....at 25 yds....and at 50 yards...five shot groups...post the pics here. Prize will be getting to share the fun of shooting with each other, as well as bragging rights 'till a better target shows up. ![]() somebody will have to tell me what diameter the bull is supposed to be for 25/50 yards. ![]()

I would like to make a recommendation here on targets. Midway, USA has free downloads for rifle and pistol targets. Save them to your pc and print them out on 8 1/2x11 sheets and use them. Everyone then will be using the same targets.
Click on the links and save from Adobe Acrobat to your pc. Rifle Target Pistol Target |

I mean jeez get rid of a few guns, maybe you'd pay more attention to the wife and improve your marriage! I'm here to help, buddy! Haha, keep those targets comin _z |
