Default Beer List

Some of you probably know of my quest, but here is the complete thread from other forums I frequent-

---
So shortly after turning 21 I developed a taste for beer, and decided I really liked the stuff (beyond the college "want to get wasted" attitude). Since then I embarked on a quest to try as many different beers as possible. I record every new beer I drink, and I finally got around to compiling my list (I normally snap a quick picture or save the name to a note in my phone, and then add it to the list).

Each entry is a unique brew. Should be fairly complete (I know of at least 4 missing I cannot identify based off the picture/name I recorded). My favorite, the Rogue Chipotle Ale for being the most unique. My least favorite, the St. Peter's Cream- it tasted like Soy Sauce.

Man, that's a nice list I know some beer afficionados may laugh, but it's hard to beat a good ole Heineken.

Wow! That's an impressive list! I like beer too, not just to get drunk - a good beer has a taste that can't be beat. IPA on a hot summer day - maybe a German wheat beer in the winter - I live in Wisconsin and we have Point beer brewed in Steven's Point. Good beer and an indepentant company, not owned by a big corporation. They still sell it in returnable bottles.
Beer should be in glass, not aluminum!!!!

Big list. I usually have a Budweiser when I drink beer. I like to have the occasional glass of Guiness as well. I'm from Wisconsin. We drink alot of beer up here. I tried Sam Adams Boston Lager one time. It has a different taste to it, but it's not bad.

I see my favorite, Fat Tire, made the list. We are now able to get it here in the East. It was formerly just a local availability in the Colorado/WY area. I used to bring a case home on my trips to WY

Nice list, it's even more impressive than mine! I noticed you had Guinness Draught on there but not Extra Stout, which was available before Draught was. It does taste different, so you may want to add it.
Guinness Draught and Extra Stout are the beers I use as benchmarks for other beer. Definitely favorites!

good job, keep it going.

John Smiths is a good English Ale
Belhaven's Best is Scottish and wonderful as well.

I don't know, but I've been told Belgium has the best beers of most any Country in the world today.

Now it is time to start brewing your own beer.

After I started brewing, I have found that I can brew better beer than almost anything on the market. ( for less than half the price too )

IPAs have caught my attention as of late, although I don't drink them very much now.

Sweetwater 420 out of Atlanta, GA
Sierra Nevada Pale Ale
Magic Hat #9

My favorite if it wasn't so fattening would be Newcastle Brown Ale. Yes, I've had better and had worse but the extreme micro-brew types aren't always available and consequently they're just a novelty.

Possibly my favorite overall that I can no longer find (since I haven't been to Asheville, NC in a while) is from the Catawba Brewing Company out of NC, and called Indian Head Red Ale. Can't get it anywhere around here any more. It was only draft when I was able to get it. That would be an example of an extremely rare micro-brew that's good but not available all the time.

So you like a syrupy-tasting but otherwise bland lager?... There's nothing wrong with that.

Well, it's my understanding that you can let the stuff "bottle condition" after the main fermentation process. I'll be the forum lab rat..... it could be wonderful or some God-awful rot gut. I will let you know

Life's a risk Bob.

When I can afford it, I really do enjoy a Red Stripe on a hot summers day. I don't know if it's the best tasting beer, or the fact that it comes from the sunny island of Jamaica, or if it's the fun little bottle it comes in. But, I like it. Had always been a Budweiser man, until they sold out. Now, it's Miller High Life.

Mr beer is not the way to go. It works, it will make beer. . . . but
You need a 6 gallon bucket, a 5 gallon carboy, and a huge kettle to cook everything in.
I brew 5 gallons of beer every week. That is about 53 beers per week, and it costs about $19.
Currently I have a stock pile of nut brown ale, Asahi lager, cream ale, guiness, a deep porter, anchorsteam, and fat tire ale.

All my buddies love coming here to drink because my beer tastes better than what you can get at the store.
