i have a good friend that from time to time we shoot together.i have a older colt that for all practical purposes i hand built.here is the game.we both put a quarter in a hat,at 100 yards we have a six inch in diameter balloon.we take turns shooting from a sandbag rest, each time you miss you add a quarter.the first one to hit, gets the change.i know well that thats extreem for a 45 acp but it is fun.i realize any coin denomination can be used but we stuck at a quarter.i do want you to know that we both shoot around 4-500 rds of 45 a month but we are not experts, its just a lot of fun old semperfi

Sounds like a lot of fun! As for as the 100yd. target being extreem for a .45, I personally would think it's not extreem. Elmer Keith was shooting an old out house at 500 yds. with an old .44, and shot many deer with his new .44Mag at 500 yds. Both of those calibers (.45 & .44) will shoot a long way, the trick is figure out how much drop you get at the distance you are shooting.
