Default .38 S&W CTG 5 shot

Have a .38 S&W CTG Ser108158 5 shot. Curious as to age of gun. Any info will be appreciated.

We need either more info or some pictures. ".38 S&W Ctg" (CTG is abbreviation for "cartridge") only says what ammunition it uses, not what kind or make of gun it is.

Is the gun a break top or a swing out cylinder? What are the other markings?

its a S&W .38 CTG 5 shot 4 inch barrel swing out cylinder.

That would have to be the .38 Regulation Police or the .38 Terrier; the serial would put it in the mid to late 1950's or early 1960's. Swing out the cylinder and look at the frame under the crane. If there is a model number, that would definitely identify the gun.

Thank you Jim. I dont know much about guns. I looked and saw its a 33-1 on the frame.

That SN puts it between '57 and '62. 33-1 started in '61. So that makes it 1961 or 1962.
