Yeah. It says it was a 20-year old Soviet-made plane.

After three attempts to land in heavy fog and Russian ATC telling them to divert to another airfield Id say yes I buy it.

My bet is that on the third and final approach the PIC went below landing minimums and balled it up short of the runway. Guys do it all the time, sometimes it works and sometimes you die, they have minimums for a reason!

That’s my take on it from a professional pilots point of view.

Sully would have taken the alternate.

TU 154s have a less than stellar record but this looks like Pilot Error to me.

Is it kind of FISHY that all those High-Level Poles were on that single airplane?. They had just left a cerimony for those THOUSANDS of Polish Army Officers who were murdered by the Russians in a single event, and on their way back to Poland.

Remember when Joe Stalin and Company blamed the dispicable Herr Adolph for the mass murder in Poland? Herr Adolph was a butcher, too, but Uncle Joe was right up there. Gave it the ole College try.

Knowing that OF COURSE These Days "Our Friends" in Moscow have turned over a NEW LEAF, they would never contemplate murder to cover up anything. That was something that ONLY happened a long time ago. Like back when Uncle Joe was boss. Now that Putin and his KGB friends own the show we are safe, Right?

Anyone who thinks the Russians are done with the ole Cold War needs to think again. They just added a few new graves to the old ones.
