I had a first generation in .40. It was an amazing weapon to shoot. It just weighed a ton. The newer generation ones are lighter.

Unless things have changed over time the Baby eagle is a CZ 75 clone. Why not buy the real thing? CZ handguns are superb as are their rifles. I have several of both the pistols and the rifles. Love em! I have multiple safes full of all kinds of guns that I can compare the CZ's to, and the CZ are about the most gun for the least money you can buy...plus they are generally accurate.

I agree with LD on the CZ's. Best handgun IMO but the FNX40 is nothing to be ashamed of. Fantastic gun to shoot also.

I understand they are called "eaglets" :-)
When in doubt about any firearm. Buy both, or all.

I had one made in 1995 that was all steel,9mm and made in Israel. Great accurate pistol. I want another in .40.

The original Baby Eagles were made in Israel but where are they made today?

Even the originals were nothing more than a CZ75 clone. I still say "Why not buy the original instead of a clone?". CZ's are now readily available through CZ-USA and the all steel CZ75B is a landmark gun.

Sometimes the "clone" is an improvement on the original. Love my Jericho 941 built in 2008. It along with my S&W M&P .45 are my favorites among my handguns.

warbird1:

Real CZ's are absolutely excellent guns and NO clone is better, in my opinion.

LDBennett:

Just teasing a bit. From reviews and articles I have read I have no doubt CZ's are excellent firearms. No hands on experience with them. I do love my Jericho though. Extremely accurate and reliable. Love the all steel construction and the slide running inside the frame. Country of origin also does something for me.........Warbird1

I'm partial to FN and CZ. Why get a copy when you can get the real thing for the same price.
