I'm not sure how I missed this post from the get go, but I'll go out tomorrow and see if I can make things work to the point that I can be competetive.

Got to get to wallyworld and get some targets first.

Jay

Good shootin Jay.
I didnt try anything but the 50 yard this weekend. Just too muggy and hot after a morning of thunderstorms. I really need to do some work on my range to where it easier to shoot at different ranges. Mostly put up a lean-to roof for shade and some backstops at different ranges.

Very, very nice indeed. Unfortunatly work is preventing me from having a go, but even so I doubt I could match that.
My favored rimfire rifle is an old BRNO. Looks like hell, but shoots nice.

Ol Joe got me into the USBR email matches over at RFC, found a link to this site, nice place fellas!

I get some time, I'll get some targets posted here for fun. Jay that Anschutz looks like a shooter!!

I shot my "new" 1409 Super Match 54 with the aperture sights for the first time ever at the range, plugged .510" group at 50 through the peeps with SK Standard! Drilling and tapping for a 36x soon, can't wait!

Welcome, Tenspot........glad to have you aboard. Probably 90% of my time is between here and RFC. Congrats on the 1409...I looked at it more than once. I'll be interested to see how it shoots. From the same dealer, I bought the BSA Martini Mk III. I've always liked the looks of them, now I'll get to see how it shoots. We can swap stories as things develop. The Anschutz is a very nice rifle, but I still have a great affinity for the older rifles.

Join us often,

Jay

Smile Howdy, Tenspot.........

I'm real anxious to get the BSA, but it will probably be next week. I'm planning on scoping it. I saw a post the other day saying that a Weaver #82 mount, with Redfield high rings, will fit the Mk III. You know how that goes.....I'll plan on that working, and adjust if I need to.

If anyone here has scoped a BSA Martini Mk III, I'd be interested in knowing what works with a modern scope. After buying the rifle, I can't afford an older target scope like I'd like to have.

PM sent on the topic we were on last night.........

Regards, Jay

Default July 100 yd rimfire Score

I got one in last week. Shot it with my Ruger 10/22 Super Clacker with the Sightron 36X. It was great shooting weather, about 75 deg, sunny, and NO wind, nothin was movin and the air just hung with a touch of humidity. I also shot my 50yd USBR's for RFC, best I do was 234, wish I could have taken better advantage of the lack of wind on those.

The 10 shots score 100-9x, photo has my NRA guage in it because one was close. Used Eley Match EPS ammo. I shot 3 targets total, the other two were a 100-8x and a 100-5x. Pretty fun!

Thanks Swanshot!!

Now and then I get wild hair and can shoot!! That 8oz Kidd Super Match trigger helps too!!!!

To be perfectly honest though. Since I got going in the RFC email matches in February, my shooting has gotten better and better. Reason being I try to turn in a full compliment of scores for two different rifles every month. My bench time has been significant this year and the practice shows. I live 5 miles from work, and the range is on my way. I often go shoot a USBR or a practice target or 2 at noon.

Default first time at 100 with the Anschutz 1411

It was a bit sticky and the damn mosquitos were unreal. I had about an hour to shoot, but I was well pleased.

All targets shot with Wolf MT. Scoped targets were with an older Tacso Mil-Dot 6x24.

I'm gonna have to get with it to shoot to this rifle's ability. There's a good chance the Weaver T-20 may come off the H&R M12 and onto the Anschutz 1411
