My brother wants to sell me a Diamondback Colt 38 Special CTG. It has a nice wooden handle, a 4" barrel (if I'm measuring right). A small Colt horse just above the handle it's a 6 shot revolver. I have the serial number if that is any help. He bought it used and has no idea of it real worth. I was told it's a police special.

the diamondback is a high end colt detective special D frame, with a vented rib, they bring good money and yes the serial number would help determine when it was made. a picture would help to gauge the value. it shoots 38 specials but i highly doubt it was ever a police issued gun , to expensive when compared to ruger, service sixes and securitry sixes of the same time frame. also a smith and wesson model 10,64,or 15 or 67 which were also 38 only.
