Default Iver Johnson 57A TARGET .22 Revolver 8 Shot

Would appreciate any info anyone might have on this gun. Mainly will it fire todays 22 lr ammunition. Thanks for all help

The 57A was made from 1961-1975, it differed from the 57 as the A designated the new loading gate.

I would only use Standard Velocity ammo in it.
Absolutely NO HYPER-Velo stuff. (no Stingers, no yellowjackets)

You MIGHT be able to get away with High-velo...but you'll probably find it will respond a lot better to the subsonic
Standard target rounds.

Thank you very much. appreciate the info. Just acquired this gun and I am also looking for a rear site blade for it. Gun is in great shape except for that. Thanks again
