Boutique" Gun Store?

• A north suburban gunshop owner hoping to open stores in the Loop and Lincoln Park has filed a federal lawsuit against the City of Chicago and Mayor Daley alleging the new gun ordinance infringes on the constitutional rights of residents.
  Joseph Franzese, owner of Villa Park-based Second Amendment Arms, and Robert M. Zieman Sr. filed the suit Friday in U.S. District Court against the city, the mayor, Police Supt. Jody Weis, City Clerk Miguel Del Valle and Corporation Counsel Mara Georges.
  Franzese wants to open "boutique" type gun stores in Lincoln Park and on Michigan Avenue downtown, according to his lawyer Walter Maksym, one of Drew Peterson's lawyers in his pending murder case.

Maybe they could serve tea and those little cakes while you look for the latest .45 caliber semi-auto to protect your Lincoln Park condo property that's losing value hand-over-fist.

Boutique Gun Store sounds like one of those places people would get a pink Hello Kitty gun, or maybe where those Mexican Cartel guys(if you can call them guys) went to put all those diamonds on their guns.

I'm not sure why so many of you are so concerned that the owner of a gun store wants to call it a "Boutique." Are guns any less effective or interesting because the name of the store makes you uneasy? Is it unseemly that a store wants to carry only the finest and most beautiful guns?

Let's look at the definition from a business standpoint. This is from businessdictionary.com. It is the definition of a business living up to the definition.

Relatively small firm that provides a limited range of (usually) very specialized goods or services, often at premium prices. A boutique advertising agency, for example, may offer either creative work or market research services but not both.

I dunno. Perhaps he does need to be sneered at and made fun of for not using a truely manly term.

How many lawsuits will it take for the political leaders in Chicago (or anywhere else) to see that they are denying American citizens of their rights? How much taxpayer money are they willing to spend on legal fees to defend their tyranical laws? How much longer will they continue to burden an already over-burdened court system with their Draconian laws just to prove a point that has already been proven that they are wrong? But the REAL question is: How much longer will the citizens of Chicago (or anywhere else) continue to allow their elected leaders to squander their taxes, deny them of their rights, and over burden their court system before they run them out of office?

lawdawg, the cost of these lawsuits is picked up by the taxpayer. Now if the loss of the lawsuits came out of the pockets of the politicians, I think that there would be a lot fewer attacks on the Constitution. Don't see a lot of likelihood of that though. The Illinois Constitution needs a change to offer better protection for the citizens against the criminal element and politicians but then I am being redundant.
