There were actual photographs of Elderly Revolutionary War soldiers taken during the Civil War. Most of these men were over 100 years old at that time.

"He has voted the Democratic ticket ... supposing that it still represents the same party that it did in Jefferson's time."

The socialists have taken over the Democratic party and many Democrats are jumping ship. They wanted change, but not that kind of Hammer and Sickle change. The Tea party is where most Americans are ending up.
I say we clean house in November, get rid of the dead wood that has been spending our country into destruction. The real change is coming in November! |

Great Stories, For myself, being close to 80, it is happiness to hear of people like them. And as far as the theory that people live longer nowdays, clearly they just don't die young quite as often. Wonderful post.

Thank you! The photo's are indeed amazing. I had no idea that they even existed. I had a great, great, great..ad infinitum; uncle who served with Washington at Valley Forge and was at Yorktown when Cornwallis surrendered. This just adds more of a connection to these men who risked everything to bring this nation into being. Hope we can be half as resolute as they were by keeping it intact as it was originally intended.
