Is there a 1911 that comes with a threated barrel in case i want to screw on a comensator.
Looking for a 45 that i can customise a bit. Or is the option to buy a 1911 and change the bbl. Opinions?

Yeah, you can get threaded barrels. Clark has a good one. I think just about all major mfgrs offer a threaded barrel for 1911s

no need to have a threaded barrel many companies make and sell barrel bushing compensators. just remove the barrel bushing and install the compensator. easy and simple to install no tools needed. fire dragon is one brand i can think of , check out their web site

Do you still have to go through all the red tape to have one of the bushing compensators?

It's kinda pricey, but Nighthawk Custom has a factory threaded pistol. It is a collaboration with Advanced Armament. It comes with the factory threaded barrel with thread protector as well as higher sights that can be used with a suppressor in place.

No, bushing comp is completely different than a suppressor. No red tape on comps. Most bushing comps are just for looks, they don't really contribute to much.

45ACP is a low pressure round and is subsonic. A compensator does absolutely nothing , except add a little weight to the front. A comp works by gas pressure forcing the barrel down to compensate for muzzle rise. There is not enough gas for this to happen on a 45ACP and most Comps for this caliber are not even bore diameter. You can drop a round thru them so they don't function anyhow. Save your money.
