Yea, I love the finish too. It is so much better looking in person then the picture shows. I didn't even intend to buy the pistol. I was following an auction and decided that the gun looked too good to let her sell for what I thought was too low of a price. I bumped the price up and ended up winning the auction at way less then $200. I got a great little gun at a great little price.
I call her Marta because she is so deceptively beautiful and yet so dangerous to be on the wrong side of in a fight.

Three inch revolvers are just about perfect for a multitude of uses. Primarily self defense.

I have several revolvers that are in the three inch range. A couple are cut off just in front of the extractor rod lug and re-sighted. They tend to balance better and handle quicker than the 2 inch guns and are easier and faster to deploy than longer ones.

There's some trade off for velocity, but a don't see a three inch revolver as being the standard for an ultimate velocity platform. Even in .38 Special, three inches gives enough velocity for serious defense work.

And three inch guns are incredibly fast for multiple targets, should that issue arise.

Exactly my thoughts on 3 inch wheelies and the reason I seek them out.

WIth the exception that I don't have a bobbed hammer on mine they are twins. I really like the Pachmayr Compac Professionals for belly gun carry and use. MAy be just in my head but I shoot a lot better with a 2 or 3" than with a 6".

My 3" SP101 goes with me nearly everywhere as it's my traveling gun. In fact, my only 2 centerfire revolvers are both SP101s so I have a bunch of grips and holsters for them...

I acutally changed the grip inserts and I really like the new ones.

Also, I have gotten very good with this gun. This is with 357 mag 158 grain Fiocchi Extrema JHP loads; they use the Hornady XTP bullets at 14 yards.

That definitely changes it up, impresive shooting too. I think I need to get to the range more often. My targets can be reused!

Thanks, she is a beaut.
Found the DW715 on *********. Was just looking around, made a quick bid, and went to bed. The next morning I was a proud papa. :-)
