Actually, upon rethinking the issue, I wonder how well the firing pin area has been cleaned since you got it.

I ran across a Tec-9 awhile back that had so much crud built up in the FP channel
that the pin got stuck in the channel. Cleaned it out, and it works like a charm
Found quite a few older rifles that needed love there too...civilians really don't clean their tools well.

Total Dissassembly of firearms when cleaning is normal maintenance to military folks.
We don't just run a few patches thru the barrel & clean the cylinders, then wipe down the outside.
It's a total-field-strip every time we clean a firearm.

Believe it or not that was an old police revolver model 15, 38special. My brother and I bought two of these. We bought the douglas premium barrels from brownells and he did all the fitting and maching. I then took them to a gun smith here and had them reblued. The front site blade is from a Dan Wesson 357 mag. Thanks. Oh yea I forgot the jeweling my brother did also on the trigger and hammer.
