Default Star 45 safety question

Got a question on a star 45. Is it correct that the hammer will drop when the safety is dropped to fire while the trigger is pulled? I don't see anything to prevent this but I want to make sure.

That is normal. The safety simply lifts the hammer off the sear, and locks it.
Assuming you are referring to the 1911-looking Stars?

Isn't that true of the M1911 also?

no, can't pull the trigger with the safety engaged on a 1911. The star will allow the trigger to be pulled with the safety on. A 1911 series will have the sear blocked which also blocks the trigger from going to the rear.

True, but on a 1911 if you cock the gun and put the safety on, then put pressure on the trigger and release the safety, the hammer will fall. The mechanism is different, but the result is the same.
