Remington 870P. The receiver states wingmaster, but it is the police model, with a remington folding stock. I've had it hard chromed, and installed scattergun ghost ring sights.

I have the Winchester 1300 Defender with the 8 shot mag. I love it! I would like to be able to interchange a longer barrel on it though. I have posted about that in another thread. If anyone could help out I would appreciate some info. Thanks

I voted Mossberg because I love my 500. I also have an Ithaca 37 (which wasn't on the poll), an Ithaca featherweight 20 ga and a remington model 17 20 ga. that they quit making in 1936. Both the 20 gauges were both of my grandads's quail guns.

Hoser, the Ithaca is the 'other' option. Lots of folks are too young, or inexperienced, to realize it's versatility, but to my (limited) knowledge, nobody else on the planet builds an 'ambidextrous' shotgun!
I've got a bunch of shotguns, but, if security/safety is an issue, the Ithaca will be in my hands, solely because it always works! Most of mine are 'gravity feed', in that, they are well enough worn in , to unlock, pointed down, and lock up, when the barrel is raised, to vertical. Could I only have one, this is the one!

Hmmmm, missed this one first time around, I guess.
I have my Winchester Model 12 and, now, a "Browning Patent" Western Field, both in 16GA. I just found out today that the WF is a Stevens 520. I'm looking for an owners manual as I type this. Pops |

First gun ever owned is a Rem 870 Wingmaster. My father bought it for me for chirstmas in 1978. Beautiful gun, class A wood and I have only shot around 2 boxes of ammo through it. Not a scratch on it.
I have since gotten a Mossberg 500 in 20ga, an Ithica 37 in 16 ga. I have several other shotguns, Old stevens dbl, Stevens 94 single, Winchester 1893 lever, L.C. Smith dbl, Charles Daly dbl. Most have not been shot in 20 yrs. Just don't do that much shotgun shooting, but have them when I get around to it. ![]() |

Two left handed 870's a 12 and a 20. One Stevens 20 cut down to barely legal length for home protection.

I have the 870 in a 70's Wingmaster and a Ithaca 37, which is also 70's vintage. Both are far smoother than the Mossberg 500 I purchased last year. Admittedly I havent shot the Mossberg as much as the Ithaca or the Remington, so in time with use and plenty of oil, she'll smooth out. The Ithaca 37 is without a doubt the smoothest cycling of them all. Bill T.

I have a safe dedicated to 870 Wingmasters. Got sporties and police/riot models. Even have one or two with property stamps for agency use. Don't accuse me of collecting them though; they just follow me home.
