Default baby hammerless model 1918

I hope I'm in the right forum, I have a baby hammerless 6 shot. I put 22 rem short in and it makes a mark on the brass but doesn't fire. Just wondering what or if I should be shooting this thing. I can't take a picture but it has black plastic grips and trigger that fold forward on top says pat april 5 (looks like a 1 and a backwards c).under that it says baby hammerless model 1918 there are no other markings. any help would be appreciated.

Use nothing more powerful than CB caps. High velocity shorts will damage the gun, and damage you.
