Default The wife says ....

I'm trying to buy myself a new handgun, and in the near future I want another long gun. The wife says no more guns, that there are way to many in the house now. We have a total of 13 hand guns, and 13 long guns. Now I ask you all; Is this too many guns?

5. Our necks [are] under persecution: we labour, [and] have no rest.
16. The crown is fallen [from] our head: woe unto us, that we have sinned!
21. Turn thou us unto thee, O LORD, and we shall be turned; renew our days as of old.

I don't believe there can be too many guns. I have about one more than my wallet can stand.

Show her what a great investment those other guns have been.

I've been thinking that if I had a 308 bolt rifle, a new slug barrel for my 1100, and a .44 spcl with a 4" barrel, I too could be done! But I am have a heck of a time convincing the wife!

that wouldn't even fill up one safe. Not near enough. Tell her "I" said it was ok to get more. She will understand.

I have two shotguns, two rifles, three hand guns and still looking for more. Especially since none of the hand guns are 1911s. And the biggest rifle I have is the 30-30. And no semi auto shotguns...
Well, Santa knows what I want.
IMHO, no such thing as too many.

You will quickly find that when you get these there will be another one that will complete your collection. Then you will find another one to complete it, and another one, and another one. You are completely hooked and might as well get used to the fact.

My wife has been fussing for years that I have enough. Now, I just don't show her, I just bring them in and put them in the safe and since she doesn't know what I have anyway, she doesn't know if one is new or not when I take it out of the safe.

Hi, I'm the only guy in a house full of females. And the wife thinks I have far to many handguns.
Well I just found the coolest little bernidili 22lr. It looks just like a walther ppk.
When I picked up the gun I also saw a set of cheap pink grips at the gun store and picked them up also. When I got home I showed the bernidili with the pink grips and told the wife it was for her.She smiled and said that was nice of me.

Today the pink grips are in the garbage and I have another handgun in my collection.
Works great!

Well you know Carver this is a hobby for alot of us on here. When it becomes a hobby, you never will stop buying something new or different. I have quite a few guns myself like you and although I do not buy something new as often as I use to I still do come across something I like and will get it. My wife is the same way and thinks I have enough. But I will never reach that point and there is no sense in debating it because it is my hobby, and why I go to work and do what I do.

grcsat, the only bad experience I have ever had was with a Bernidelli .22, I am not saying they are all defective but when I hear the name, I cringe. Many, many years ago, I had one in my pocket, at work. I reached across my desk to get something and the pistol (in my left front pants pocket) pressed against the inside corner of the desk and went off. Put a heck of a crease down my leg, and I never did find out where the bullet went.

The only thing I could figure out was that with a bullet in the chamber, and the "take down" being pushed, the gun fires. You might want to test that before you carry it. You don't want to accidently press against something and have it go off.

The one I had was taken apart and the parts went into two different dumpsters at work.

Every single make and model of every gun made is not enough. You have to have at least 2 of each.

Happily divorced here.

That said, I had a couple guns one time. Lost 'em in a river crossing on a raft. I've never been able to bring myself to replace them. After 20 years, I'm still mourning.

I thought I was done a couple months back, bought an XD 40 Tactical model in OD Green. It finished off my collection of the popular pistol calibers. But now I find myself wanting a nice over under 12 Ga. Go figure...........

If I had lost a gun in one of my trips into the wilderness areas, I believe the first thing I would do when I got back is replace it. There are certain guns that I have for various reasons and I would not want to be without them. Then there are certain ones that do have sentimental value that could not be replaced because of where they come from. But there is always something new I cannot do without.
