I can't get over how central Nevada looks like Afganistan. My brother and his two kids and my son went snooping around Del-Mar ghost town shooting our 22 rifles and pistols.I'm standing next to what's left of this building with my H&R 929 4 inch and my Nef.R92-six inch pistol. We also brought out the ruger 10-22 with 5x25 round butler creek metal lip mags.I was a great day.I hope I didn't bore anybody.I just thought I share a couple of pictures.

Holy cripes! I sure wish I had a place where I could go shoot anything I want.
Here in Florida we live on 80' by 120' lots. I gotta drive 30 miles to shoot.

Very familiar country, to me, as I grew up in Boulder City, NV and wandered many places in Nevada. Beautiful country, to me, although many can't stand it.

Did ya see any snakes, and where are the metal detectors? Love to have been there with you guys. We have some old mining camps here in West Va, but no big open plains, though I can shoot in a creek off my back porch. Thanks for the nice pics.

Armedandsafe, nice link, it really shows the entire ghost/town.My family and friends teach all our kids firearm safety and familiarity at a young age.22's seem to be best. And we didn't see any snakes this time.Usually you hear them first.I have seen someone with a metal detector once years ago.Though you can't tell from the rocky terrain we cut a truck full of cedar wood 20 miles away near Caliente before we went shooting.

dont let it bother you about the ear muffs,i wish i had enough sence years ago to do the same thing.you need to wear hearing protection any time you shoot.i know that once you lose your hearing your not likly to get it back. old semperfi

I wear them at the pistol and rifle ranges and at skeet shoots. Leave them at home when I"m in the feild; it's just my thing. |
