My 10-22 magazine wasn't working like it should.....found this link helpful in explaining how to take it apart, clean and put it back together, thought I'd share in case anyone else was having problems with theirs.

thanks for the info but i do mine different and it has worked for me for years and i have yet to replace one.i take regular automotive brake clean spray the inside of mag,take a high pressure air hose and blow them out,any residual brake clean will air dry very quickly. old semperfi

That is a pretty useful link. But I hate loading those mags. Prefer the Butler Creek Steel Lips with a loader. I find it so much easier to load plus you can shoot a lot more.

Black Dog makes a 10/22 loader. I just bought one but have yet to use it.

I like graphite or spray on graphite dry lube on the inside of my mags, regardless of type, the big thing is to keep them clean/free of dirt but a little lube goes a long way too. those rotarys are a little trickier but same principles apply....

...seems (from my experiance) with the 10/22 magazines, they get dirty pretty often, as I shoot more than average when I do shoot. One way I clean them and it may seem a bit harsh but is to give them a good soaking with Hoppe's powder solvent and then spray thenm out good and lightly oil with rem oil.

I've got more than a little experience with this. First, I recommend that you do not disassemble. Flush with a good solvent, then blast with Brake Clene which you can get at any auto parts store, put on your goggles and blast with an air hose to dry and get all the loose crud out. A smal amount of good gun oil to slicken the surfaces and you are done - till the next time.

The rounds you shoot will vary the amount of residue build-up. But ammunition is another post.
